(KRON) -- A 36-year-old man was charged in connection to a shooting on Market Street near the Powell Street BART Station in San Francisco that left four victims severely injured, prosecutors announced Thursday.

The accused gunman, Daronte Scott, will make his first court appearance for an arraignment Thursday morning at the Hall of Justice courthouse.

According to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and police, just before 1 a.m. on July 25, Scott was arguing with a woman on Market Street when "bystanders attempted to intervene to deescalate" the situation.

Instead of deescalating, Scott fired multiple rounds at the bystanders, striking four victims, the DA's office said.

The victims were treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Scott is now facing a slew of gun-related charges, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Prosecutors are seeking to hold Scott in custody without bail pending trial.

An investigation into the quadruple shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the San Francisco Police Department at 415-575-4444, or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with "SFPD."
